Those are words from graphic designer/tattoo artist/fashionista; RENE CORDERO. Rene has been one of the original Deadlee fans. He picked up my first CD at an LA Record Store. He got in contact with me over the Internet, and a friendship was born. Sometimes there are people in ones lifetime that are just meant to be. Maybe we are Louis and Lestat from "Interview With A Vampire". We have survived centuries and now set the agenda for the 21st Century. An artist like myself can only be as good as the friends and people I surround myself with. Rene has been a big part of my career not only as a fan, but through encouragement and support. He also showed his support with this tattoo: Here are some of the great show fliers he has created. RENE is an incredible artist who has also created T. WATSON, a character that will soon be seen on shirts and products around the world.   Rene was born in Huntington Park, CA raised in the Ghetto Fabb City of Watts of Los Angeles, and is currently studying interior architecture in DENVER. THE FIRST THING I AM GOING TO DO WHEN I GET RICH, WELL AFTER I BUY MY MOM HER GREEN JAG --I WILL BUY A COLLECTION OF ART FROM HECTOR SILVA AND BELASCO. THESE ARE TWO ARTIST THAT DEFINE WHAT IT IS TO BE BLACK, BROWN, AND GAY.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN TURNED ON BY COMICS, UNTIL I PICKED UP A COPY OF BELASCO'S 'THE BROTHERS OF NEW ESSEX'. I RUSHED HOME TO COMPLETE THE BOOK AND FINISH MYSELF OFF. THE CHARACTERS AND PLACES IN BELASCO'S BOOKS ARE PEOPLE I KNOW, BUT ARE RARELY REPRESENTED IN OUR MEDIA. STRONG, CONFIDENT, GAY BRUTHAS WHO NOW WHAT THEY WANT AND GET WHAT THEY WANT. I WAS WORKING ON AN ALBUM AND WAS LUCKY WHEN BELASCO AGREED TO DO THE COVER ART. HIS ART WAS FINALLY PUT IN THE INSIDE OF THE CD JACKET, BUT I AM PROUD TO BE IMMORTALIZED BY BELASCO!  BELASCO ATTENDS QUITE A FEW ART SHOWS, SO CHECK OUT HIS BLOG FOR HIS SCHEDULE.
